You can learn a craft at the Folk School

John C Campbell Folk School

Take a class!

It’s about a two-hour drive from Asheville to get to Brasstown, NC, but worth every minute once you are there!  The John C Campbell Folk School, referred to as the Folk School, began in 1925 as a place to offer education while supporting agricultural practices and the handicraft of the mountain people.

If you are interested in trying out a craft, or perhaps you have an interest in another skill such as wildflower gardening or vegan cooking then be sure you look at the class offerings at the Folk School. When you go, be sure to stop in the Craft Shop and see Mary, the Craft Shop Manager, and see the wonderful items they sell!

“Located in scenic Brasstown, North Carolina, the Folk School offers year-round weeklong and weekend classes for adults in craft, art, music, dance, cooking, gardening, nature studies, photography and writing."
