Tom Reardon & Kathleen Doyle
Jewelers/Metalsmiths

Tom Reardon and Kathleen Doyle have enjoyed their lifetime careers as jeweler-metalsmiths. After teaching at university level at separate institutions for 10 years, they met in San Francisco in 1985 and went on to create a full-time American craft business that flourished nationally. In 1995, when considering relocating to Asheville, they were invited by Grovewood Gallery to be resident studio artists in the restored, historic Biltmore Industries complex.

Inspired by the dynamic growth in the Asheville art scene, the natural beauty, and the historical setting, Tom and Kathleen have continued to build a broad spectrum of jewelry designs. Their flawless work is diverse, but much of it is inspired by Western North Carolina, including the Pisgah View mountain rings they are well known for. Custom work incorporates gemstones and precious metals and their corporate commissions are as varied as the individual clients, ranging from pendants, to wall installations to the finials for the wayfinding signs around greater Asheville.

Come with me to see Kathleen and Tom in their working studio of 20 years where you’ll find not only a gallery of current and past work, but also a lively demonstration of metalsmithing techniques and processes.
